About us
Our orchard is a special place. It hasn’t seen a chemical spray or artificial fertiliser for over 30 years.
A carpet of fallen leaves keeps the soil moist and our fruit plump. Birds feast on insect life and keep the pests at bay. Every day there’s something new to see – a pheasant’s nest in the hedgerow. The hare that lollops on to the lawn in the evening. At night the stars wheel overhead, and by day we work the orchard, caring for the trees, pruning, and picking orders. It’s hard work but we couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
We’ve been certified organic by Biogro NZ since 1991. It’s New Zealand’s strictest organic standard and recognised internationally.
